Born 1954 in Tirol.
In early childhood (5 years) determination to become an artist.
1973 trade test as carpenter.
1974 secondary school exam and removal to Vienna. Study of Art History and guest-student at the University of Applied Arts.
1976 Academy of Fine Arts (Professor Max Weiler).
Since 1980 free lance artist.
Since 1986 Exhibitions in Austria and abroad.
Since 1988 stamp-designs for the Austrian Postal Administration.
1989/90 study stay with the well-known painter and Illustrator Carl W. Roehrig in Hamburg, in order to learn the air brush technique (Airbrush).
Since 1990 work with children (weekend courses).
Work areas: Animal representations, landscapes, portraits, humorous-critical argument about human.
In addition, Hannes Margreiter is working as cartoonist and illustrator.
